Just for Girls

The support from the Bishop Parker Foundation provided 45 girls with equal access to a full year of life-changing programming that targets the critical developmental areas of academics, behavior, and character. Just for Girls’ Out of School Time program operates before and after school, during school breaks, over the summer, and on select Scholastic Saturdays, providing girls ages 5-17 with customized and innovative academic recovery and acceleration through homework assistance, literacy engagement, STEM initiatives, and research-based learning activities.

JFG’s dedicated team of youth development specialists also promotes and reinforces positive behaviors, confidence, compassion, respect, resilience, empathy, and responsibility in a safe, nurturing environment that fosters togetherness, acceptance, and understanding. JFG programming is a haven for girls to adopt the perspectives, habits, and skills that empower them to discover and nurture their potential and break poverty, delinquency, and defeat cycles. For girls with limited economic resources needing JFG’s targeted programming, scholarships are a pathway to achievement that allows them to move beyond adversity and recognize their self-worth, initiating generational gains that radiate throughout Manatee County communities.

From the direct support given to girls needing extra attention to the positive influence that JFG programming has on family bonds and community growth, JFG and the Bishop Parker Foundation are building a brighter future for local girls to break through barriers and achieve their full potential!
