Friends of the Lakewood Ranch Library

The mission of the Friends of the Lakewood Ranch Library is to advocate for library services county-wide and raise funds for our branch. Membership, Bookstore sales, donations, special events, and grants are our major funding channels. In addition to library collections, the Friends provide financial support for the summer reading programs, Makerspace equipment, clubs, technology classes, cultural events and more.

It’s moving in day at Lakewood Ranch Library!

Thanks to the generous grant from the Bishop-Parker Foundation in collaboration with other community foundations and individual donors, the library collections at the new Manatee County Lakewood Ranch Library have doubled from 23,000 items to 46,000.

The grant purchased 1600 children’s books to promote reading, 425 large print materials for residents with visual impairments and 535 multicultural/bilingual books so second English language learners can read in their native languages. The generosity of the Bishop-Parker Foundation illustrates their commitment to supporting our community and building a thriving library
